Living in Tahoe for 30 years I've seen a lot of changes around here. I've seen things grow, expand and get done up. Now I love all that, but I also get to missing what made Tahoe so great when I came here. The blue skies, rugged beauty and awesome skiing. That's why I'm proud to belong to a resort that is doing their part to keep that real, genuine Tahoe feel.
And though the authentic Tahoe vibe can be felt throughout Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort, the essence can be seen in the mountain itself. With 480" average annual snowfall and over 2,200 vertical feet, the mountain offers deep and steep. Jack's Bowl is still my favorite tree-run, and Huckleberry Canyon can give me a good rush on a powder day. And, yes, every now and then you'll see me ride the halfpipe with Maddie Bowman and Hannah Teter, or hit the jumps (smaller ones in my case) with Jamie Anderson. My kids grew up learning in our Wild Mountain Children's Center; still the best place for kids to learn to ski or snowboard. This mountain is chock-full of great people, great terrain and a laid-back vibe. It feels good to know that Sierra truly is keepin' it real.
