About The Festival

The Caribbean Diaspora has always had an impactful contingent in various areas of the United States of America.

Caribbean Nationals have been a part of the rich culture of New Haven since the 1900's or longer. In 2014 under the Distinguished Patronage of Hon. Mayor Toni N. Harp and the City of New Haven we were invited to showcase our rich culture at City Hall. We had approximately 200 people sharing, learning, reminiscing, tasting and just overall having a "gran ole time".

The celebration has turned into an annual festival named The New Haven Caribbean Heritage Festival to enjoy performances, delicious Caribbean cuisine, beautiful displays of islands and colorful costumes. This year will be the 10th festival, aptly hosted in June which is dubbed National Caribbean American Heritage Month.

This year, we are returning to downtown New Haven on the main Green, thanks to our partnership with the International Festival of Arts & Ideas.

In true Caribbean Style - FAMILY TIME, MUSIC, DANCING & FOOD.
