Limerick Lane Cellars, one of Sonoma County's premier producers of Zinfandel and Syrah, has been sold. The new owners, Jake and Alexis Bilbro of Healdsburg, purchased the winery and all related businesses and assets from winery founder Michael Collins for an undisclosed sum. The deal closed September 6th just as the 2011 harvest got underway.
Founded in 1986, with vines dating to 1910, Limerick Lane Cellars consists of eighteen acres of vineyards - planted primarily to Zinfandel and Syrah - a tasting room and a winery. The Bilbros also own ten acres of Zinfandel vines across the street from the winery that are now part of the winery estate.
