Jeffers Petroglyphs is a living sacred site that has been used by various cultural groups for thousands of years. Today many of the people whose ancestors are known to have lived in this area - the Ioway, Cheyenne and Dakota peoples - come to pray here. Visitors to the site find a story of North American peoples that cannot be told anywhere else in an authentic, meaningful and effective manner.
