Our Mission: Working together to promote cultural experiences in Wyoming.
Our Vision: Individually and collectively championing exemplary learning and entertainment opportunities in theÂ
community through collaborating, capacity building, promoting variety, enriching programming, and marketing. Â
Our governing Board consists of Directors from each of the museums, plus four Community Advisors. The MarketingÂ
Coordinator is the only part-time employee of the Consortium.
Major projects for the Consortium include the annual "Passport to Adventure Hunt," where people are invited to visit 6Â
of the 12 museums in the area, answer a question and get their Passport booklet stamped at each museum, then turn inÂ
their stamped answer sheet by August 31. Then they are eligible to win one of eight Grand Prize Packages, whichÂ
feature all the best amenities in the Casper area.
Other projects and publications include our quarterly newsletter for students, "Museum Magic," weekly appearances onÂ
the Brian Scott Morning Show on KTWO Radio, and museums tours for a selected groups of people. Twice per yearÂ
we host guided VIP tours on "Date Night," where attendees visit four museums during the evening, with catered food,Â
fun cocktails, and transportation provided.
The museums work year round to create wonderful educational programs for children. Education Curators and theirÂ
staff develop classes, exhibits, and special activities for children visiting their museum. They also work with teachersÂ
to make sure state and district Essential Curriculum standards are met when they come for site visits. Teachers love toÂ
visit because they realize that learning comes alive at the museums! Information learned at the museums becomesÂ
embedded in long-term memory through authentic experiences. The children not only remember the information learned,Â
but experience "living the lesson" to enhance further sequential learning development.
