Charles Ives and the American Tradition: European Influences on America

American classical music has long been indebted to the European tradition. This concert features European composers that had major influence on the American music scene.

Antonín Dvorák lived was the head of the first music conservatory in the United States, encouraging American composers to use folk music to create a national style.
