You have the opportunity to see a show from one of the most popular South American bands, who have preformed at multiple major festivals, in your own backyard! Don't miss this opportunity.

Las Guaracheras take inspiration from others in the same genre. If you like New York's JOE CUBA and the NEW SWING SEXTET as well as more contemporary musicians like CADAVER EXQUISITO of Venezuela and GRUPO LATIN VIBE from New York City, you'll like Las Guaracheras.

If you identify with their mission to uplift female voices in Afro-Latin music, come out to support them.

LAS GUARACHERAS?

Las Guaracheras is an all-women salsa sextet from the city of Cali, Colombia that became a band in 2017. The ensemble´s cultural and artistic objective is to uplift female voices within Afro-Latin music and build a more inclusive, diverse and respectful cultural space for all.

For those that aren't familiar, "Guarachas were played and sung in musical theatres and working class dance salons during the late 19th and early 20th century," according to Sunfest.

Their music communicates joy, memory and transformation. They value improvisation in their sets and with vibraphone, percussion, bass, piano and vocals. Las Guaracheras present an explosive show that will get the crowd singing and dancing in the moment, and reflecting on their message later.

Among multiple presentations in the best salsa forums of Colombia, Las Guaracheras have performed on many stages and festivals.

- Salsa al Parque in Bogotá
- Portamérica Latitudes in Guadalajara, Mexico
- Las Fiestas del Pitic in Hermosillo, Mexico
- Sunfest in Canada
- Feria de Cali
- Sevijazz
- The Colsubsidio Theater in Bogotá
- BIME Spain, Madrid
- In Barcelona where they closed last year with a presentation before a crowd of 12,000 people in the Zócalo of Mexico City
