dir. Miloš Forman
One of the most celebrated films in Hollywood history, director Miloš Forman’s One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest endures as a shining example of the New Hollywood movement of the 1970s. The film features a powerful turn from Jack Nicholson as a new patient in a mental institution, Louise Fletcher as a sadistic nurse, and a colorful collection of patients including an early appearance by Danny DeVito and film debuts for Christopher Lloyd and Brad Dourif. Cuckoo’s Nest is one of only three films in history to win all five major Academy Awards (Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director, and Best Screenplay). This serves a fitting conclusion to our season of PREMIER PERFORMANCES.
Bardavon Presents our 24/25 film series, PREMIER PERFORMANCES. This year’s film choices focus on legendary stars of stage and screen in some of their most memorable roles. In addition to the screenings being free of charge, all nine films in the series are preceded by a Happy Hour, featuring half-price beer and wine, as well as free snacks and soda. For all films, Happy Hour starts at 6:30, followed by each screening at 7:30. Additionally, all Bardavon screenings feature a 30-minute pre-show concert by Juan Cardona Jr. on the Bardavon’s Mighty Wurlitzer organ, courtesy of NYTOS.
