Fall Show - Back to Barbershop with Quartet

Stone Mountain Chorus Presents: "Back to Barbershop" with International Finalist Quartet, Full Effect!

Keeping the classic sound of Barbershop four-part harmony alive, Stone Mountain Chorus has been part of the Atlanta music scene since 1981. The Chorus represents the Greater Atlanta Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society in the Southeastern Harmony District. Under the musical direction of Rontray Miller II, this energetic performance will feature great songs sung by the Chorus and several Barbershop Quartets.

As a special treat, we welcome Full Effect, an award-winning young quartet representing the Next Generation of great Barbershop singing. In fact, Full Effect won the 2023 Next Generation Barbershop Quartet Championship at the Barbershop Harmony Society International Contest in Louisville, Ky. They are the 2023 Southeastern Harmony District Champion Quartet, and finished in 6th place at the 2024 International Quartet Championship!

Barbershop Quartet style a cappella is deeply rooted in the history of American music. This performance will explore the varied sounds and repertoire of this great art form, and trace its history from its early days to the Next Generation of Barbershop singing. We're excited to bring the vocal craft of a cappella harmony to the Red Clay Theatre venue. Experience an afternoon of pure vocal harmony the way it was meant to sound - you don't want to miss it!

As with all Stone Mountain Chorus concerts, a portion of ticket sales is donated to FOCUS (Families of Children under Stress,) an Atlanta charity supporting children with challenging medical or developmental conditions and their families. This show is made possible in part by a Project Grant from the Gwinnett Creativity Fund. Stone Mountain Chorus also acknowledges the support of the Georgia Council for the Arts.
