Terry Lenoir Palmer uses ceramics, wood and metal to produce images that spark the imagination. Wood backgrounds are often stressed, painted, burned and sanded to get a well worn look and ceramic pieces are most often fired in the raku method.
Palmer feels that his pieces must have a living element to them, be it animal or human. At times, past lives are represented by skulls from the animal kingdom and sit in a spot of reverence in a construct. Often, heads are fabricated to bring the human element to his art. In some cases, these are robed figures with draped vestments that represent a shaman or traiteur, as these figures are always good individuals who exist to help others.
