He HSO presents its annual “Celebrate America!” concert, led by the esteemed Hartford Symphony Orchestra music director Carolyn Kuan. This patriotic extravaganza, accompanied by a spectacular fireworks display. Joining the orchestra for this special occasion is the renowned percussionist Ed Fast and his Conga Bop Latin jazz septet, adding their unique flair to the festivities.
Ed Fast, a familiar face in the Hartford region and Hartt School alumnus, is a versatile percussionist as comfortable sitting-in with the Hartford Symphony Orchestra as he is touring with premier Broadway roadshows or gigging in bands accompanying big-name favorites. His Conga-Bop septet is known for its simultaneously lighthearted and hard-swinging Latin jazz and will add an extra layer of excitement to the program.
