Bloomfield Charity Antiques and Collectibles Show

Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Bloomfield Hills is marking the 60^th year of its charitable antique show, one of the longest running in the country!

The 60^th Bloomfield Charity Antiques and Collectibles Show – a major event on Michigan’s antique show circuit -- will be held indoors on Friday, Sept. 27 and Saturday, Sept. 28 at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church located at 1100 Lone Pine Road (at Telegraph Road), in Bloomfield Hills. Hours of the show are 10 AM - 6 PM on Friday, and 10 AM – 4 PM on Saturday.

Thirty-five quality dealers will be selling 18^th, 19^th and 20^th Century American and English antiques, antique & estate jewelry, china, glassware, linens, pottery, furniture, vintage clothing & purses, porcelain, silver, cut glass, paintings, quilts, art glass, ceramics, crystal, brass, copper, antique pints, dolls, jade statues, bronzes, figurines, books, Asian Art, Mantiques, Vintage lighting and more! It’s a great sale to find a unique decorating item or to find a treasure to add to your collection.

Proceeds from the 60^th Bloomfield Charity Antiques and Collectibles Show will benefit Gifts For All God’s Children, a Rochester Hills-based organization started in 1987 focusing on the needs of underserved children while connecting them to Jesus. They encourage churches and organizations to work together to support spiritual, academic, and social growth in these children. The organization also provides children in need assistance with hygiene kits, school supplies, summer camp scholarships, Summer Bible Camp, tutoring, Christmas gifts and more. They plan to use the donation to develop a tutorial program for children in Detroit for K-7.

To date, the Bloomfield Charity Antiques and Collectibles Show has raised more than $730,500 for metro Detroit charities through ticket sales, dealer booth fees, food sales and other activities at the show.

“As the Bloomfield Charity Antiques and Collectibles Show celebrates its 60^th year, we are so delighted with its longevity and the ability it has given our church community to help local charities for so many years,” said Marilyn Nix, general show chairperson. “While others have come and gone, ours has grown from a church fundraiser to an important part of the antique show circuit not only to those in Michigan but stretching to international antique enthusiasts.”

Show Highlights

Thirty-five highly esteemed dealers from Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Indiana will sell an extensive variety of pieces.

Back by popular demand…. homemade pies! Delicious, fresh apple, pumpkin, pecan, and key lime home baked pies will be sold at the show’s Country Store to take home. You’ll also find a tasty assortment of scratch-made baked goods, candies, jellies, and pickles for sale. There will also be gluten-free baked items. The menu of the Country Café will include many delectable items including its famous Chicken Cherry Salad, gourmet sandwiches, comforting homecooked soups and mouthwatering sloppy joes. To enjoy the fall weather, there will be outside dining options available, weather permitting. All net proceeds from the Country Café and Country Store will be donated to this year’s chosen charitable organization.

The 60^th Bloomfield Charity Antiques and Collectibles Show will once again offer appraisals, excluding jewelry, by the fine art auctioneers from DuMouchelles on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 10 AM – 1 PM. Attendees can bring old family heirlooms that may be collecting dust and find out if they have historical and/or financial value. The cost is $10 per item with a limit of three items per person. Proceeds will benefit Gifts For All God’s Children.

Another favorite for the bargain hunters, “Estate Treasures for Charity” will feature items donated by Cross of Christ congregation members and sold at bargain prices to benefit this year’s charity.

Also returning this year are printed notecards of the awe-inspiring murals that adorn Cross of Christ Lutheran Church’s Light Center. The murals are original designs by local artist Matt LeBarre. The notecards will be sold exclusively at the 60^th Bloomfield Charity Antiques and Collectibles Show. They are packaged in boxes of 10 cards featuring five different images for $10 and proceeds will be donated to this year’s charity.

And if you need one more great reason to come to the 60^th Bloomfield Charity Antiques and Collectibles Show, attendees can enter a prize drawing to win one of several Target gift cards. There is no charge to enter the drawing. Winners will be picked at the end of the show and notified by phone or email. You do not need to be present to win.

About the Show & Benefitting Charity

The annual Bloomfield Charity Antiques and Collectibles Show is a benefit event of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church and was first held in 1963 to raise money for the purchase of new choir robes. The show was a huge success, so the church continued to host it but chose to donate all proceeds to local charities. The Bloomfield Charity Antiques and Collectibles Show has always been run entirely by volunteers. Today it is one of the country’s longest running antique shows with all net proceeds going to charity.
