15th Annual All Ford Powered Car & Truck Show
Nature Coast Mustangs is presenting one of the best all Ford Shows in central Florida this fall with judged classes for Mustangs and all years of Fords including Lincoln and Mercury products. To make it more exciting, we will be celebrating Ford Drag Racing history, and will have hall of fame drivers and cars from our childhood. Spectators are welcome with no admission cost. This year, Nature Coast Cancer Crusaders will be recipient of our fund-raising efforts. Nature Coast Cancer Crusader provide local support to patients and families here in Citrus County.
This year we are honoring Charlie Morris (Ford Historian, Author and Drag Racer). Charlie has invited other hall of fame drivers to join in the festivities and show their vehicles. Plans call for some amazing displays at the show.
- Rusty Gillis is showing his 69 Mustang Cobra Jet that he has raced from 1971 to the present day.
- Mark Cubberly, President of the Cape Coral Cobra club, who will once again be bringing his 2018 Cobra Jet Mustang drag car.
- Jim Cagle from the Tampa area who successfully raced Ford products in the 60's-70's.
- Bill Dismuke 'The Pride of South Georgia' who has drag racing credentials dating to the early 1960's will be with us once again. This year he is bringing his Phil Bonner/Jim Cagle 1964 A/FX Falcon tribute car. Jim Cagle purchased Bonner's very successful 64 Falcon in 1965 and continued to race it. The car on display this year will be an accurate tribute to the Bonner/Cagle 64 Falcon and it packs a 427 High Riser engine for power as the original car did in 64-65.
- Milo Coleman, who was recently a celebrity guest at the 60th Anniversary of the Ford/Fairlane Thunderbolt in Dearborn, MI has agreed to join us again this year.
- David Garton has agreed to display his Ford GT again as well.
- Charlie Morris is finishing his 10th book which covers the history of Lincoln-Mercury vehicles in drag racing. I am sure he will have other books and articles about Ford Drag Racing for your review.
